Sometimes a problem with pictures can be solved, eg. You may need to inspect a part prior to installation because it will not be accessible later. Or if dismantling a component would cause damage or cost too much time? If you incorporate an intermediate step in your process, then you are on the safe side. The visualization - in your screwdriving process we also count towards image processing - in the broadest sense. See here some examples.
